Dream. Emerge. Rise.   Rising Up is my way of contributing to the continued successes of those who have served in the Armed Forces. I am a Persian Gulf War Veteran and have been working in the civilian sector since 1992. I know how challenging it is to go from such a well outlined way of life to one that is lacking in firm direction, guidelines, and expectations.

Welcome to Rising Up

flower If you are Prior Service or are about to ETS, there are a few things that the Military did not prepare you for in the Civilian workforce.

Most veterans have learned respect, self-reliance, determination, reliability, and dedication; we have not been trained in tact, patience, diplomacy, or tolerance for noncompliance. If anything, we have been trained that these behaviors waste time. After all, why would you ask nicely in 10 words when the act can be demanded with 3?

The Military did a great job training and preparing you to respond in times of crisis quickly and efficiently. It did not, however, prepare you for the everyday challenges of a civilian job.

Now that you are about to embark (or perhaps already have) on a new adventure it would be helpful to have some idea of what you are getting into and to have someone to get your back while you walk directly into the fire. That's what I am here for. To be a tour guide and point out the potential hazardous places that are avoidable and to help you out should you fall into one.

Life Coaches are not therapists or counselors and there is no negative connotation in hiring a Coach. Life Coaches are hired by healthy people that want to take their lives to the next level. Just like a basketball coach, we help our clients find their strengths and build upon them.
